Monday - May 25, 2020 - Don't Follow the Crowd

“And will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.” II Timothy 4:4

Yesterday, I shared a verse that bears repeating today.

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.” I John 4:1

There are many preachers on television and radio that are preaching a gospel that is not honoring to God. They are preaching something that they think the people will want to hear and they’re right. They have churches filled with thousands of people who are flocking to them and their preaching. BEWARE!! They are slick and I fully believe that they know exactly what they are doing. Their motive is greed and money. The LOVE of money is the root of all evil is what the Bible teaches. They aren’t preaching the same Jesus as we know in our hearts. Some of those preachers are preaching false doctrines to draw crowds.

We know that the gospel is offensive. It doesn’t promise that all our problems will go away and we’ll have a fairy tale life. Life down here on Earth is not for us, it’s not our home. We have a Heavenly home that awaits our arrival.

These preachers are storytellers. They don’t care for our lost souls; they are in it for themselves. So watch out to who you’re listening to on TV and the radio or by CD or DVD. If you’re having trouble determining who you should listen to or watch then seek out a mature Christian or your pastors and ask, they’ll lead you in the right direction.

These slick preachers will catch you off guard if you’re not careful. Watch and be aware of what you’re being taught.
