October 28, 2020 - God is Always Watching!

“The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore.” Psalm 121:7-8

Wow! What promises God is making to us! In these verses, God is stating that He will keep us from sin and the adversary at all times. Can you imagine the protection He’s giving us? It’s better than the secret service! God watches over us at all times giving us the protection that sometimes we don’t even see. He’s standing guard over us and yet we find ourselves worrying over whether or not we’re adequately protected or do we possibly need more. We worry about what’s out there and how it’s going to overtake us. We should be thanking God that He’s constantly taking care of us and making sure that nothing can harm us.

We worry about all the physical things that can happen to us and how we need to defend and protect our bodies. We look at our health and what we put into our bodies to make sure that we aren’t causing any harm. We look at our surroundings and worry if there’s enough light or if others can see us so we can safely come and go as we please. God is ALWAYS watching! He sees and He knows what’s out there and He stands guard.

We sometimes don’t concern ourselves enough about our Spiritual beings. What are we feeding our minds and souls? Is it godly or is it filled with things that distract us from God? Do we watch godly things on TV or at the movies? Do we listen to godly music or radio talk shows? How much “stuff” do we haphazardly put into our lives without any thought of what it is doing to our spiritual being? Are we paying attention to all that we read? How about Social Media? Here God is reminding us that He’s wanting our soul and spirit to be protected too! This area may be one of the forgotten areas in our lives. Be careful. This is how Satan causes us to “back slide” and miss what God has for us. Physical things we can see with our eyes but the spiritual things are discerned by our spirits and often missed.

Damage can come from any angle in our lives. We sometimes only concern ourselves with what we can see and then we don’t really do a good job at it. I’m thankful that God is watching over us, warning us and preserving us for His glory. I’m glad it’s not a contractual thing. Something we wear out or stop having His protection. God’s protection is both physical and spiritual. His protection is from now until eternity. He is faithful! Hallelujah!
