“Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.” 2 Timothy 3:8-9

Jannes and Jambres were the names of two of the magicians who told Pharaoh that Moses was lying and trying to trick Pharaoh. They also produced snakes, in the presence of Pharaoh. The snake that came from Moses’ staff, however, ate the other snakes and became a staff again.

The corrupt man today is much like these two charlatans, they have no belief in God but yet try and mimic His grace. They stand in opposition to what God is doing while claiming they are doing in for the good of others. They consistently resist the TRUTH of God and invent their own stories. They are liars and con men. Their minds have been corrupted so they cannot think straight. (You wouldn’t want to use a computer whose data had been corrupted). Concerning the things of God, they have been disapproved, meaning there is no relationship with God.

Beloved, the Apostle Paul, assures us that there is coming a day when they will be exposed for all to see their folly. There is comfort in knowing that God sees all and knows all. He alone can be trusted to make things right. Those who practice deceit and evil schemes will not progress. Their influence ends here on earth. They will NEVER practice those things in heaven. Life passes by too fast, only what’s done for Christ will last.
