“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;” 1 Peter 3:15

Covid-19, Riots, Luting, Crime, Politics, with all these tings going on its no wonder that people are scared and confused. Our news media often makes matters worse by exploiting the worst-case scenario. People are searching for peace. Longing to hear that everything will be alright.

Beloved, our world is looking for answers. They are looking for ways to cope with all that’s going on in our world. It’s difficult to work through all the misinformation and propaganda that is on the internet. What they need is the TRUTH about Jesus Christ. Our task is to share God’s Word with them.

The Apostle here tells us to be ready to share with “everyone” who asks. There are two parts of that statement. First, we MUST live in a way that gives HOPE. People need to see that we are not like the world. We who know the Lord Jesus live differently from those who do not. When they see that difference, then they will ask.

The second part is that we are to be prepared to answer with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Every believer should be ready to share the Gospel with anyone and everyone. Sadly, many believers do not “feel” prepared. Beloved, let me encourage you to be ready. Let us help you to be prepared to win the lost for Christ. Be the witness that the Lord wants you to be.
