"...traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” 2 Timothy 3:4-5
The last four descriptive words and phrase are as awful as the first grouping. I am amazed that some of the United States Senators and Congress Members are so adamantly in favor of letting “non-U.S. citizens” vote in U.S. elections. Beloved, I have been to over forty countries and never once did I expect to vote in their elections. Neither has any of those countries taxed their citizens in order to give me benefits. Some of those politicians are haughty, headstrong traitors. (Sorry, I’ve never been interested in being “politically correct.”)
Many in our society promote personal pleasure above everything. They glorify the most wicked and perverse things. They want to make “wrong” appear “right.” People get “offended” when it is suggested that their action are “morally wrong.”
The Apostle Paul says two things about these people in the last days. First, “they have a form of godliness, but deny its power.” They want to “look” as though they are doing something good, but they don’t care about what God says is good. They may attend some kind of religious services BUT they are NOT Christians. Secondly, Paul urges us “turn away” from them. We should have nothing to do with them.
Beloved, we should always seek to follow the Lord more than the favor of man, or Self. He is the LORD!!! We are His children; we should live like it for others to see.
