“Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” 1 Peter 4:9-10
The other day I was talking with another person about the church in general. I was explaining that the Lord Jesus Christ has given every believer a “special spiritual gift” to be used in and thru the church. I ask them to envision Christ delivering a load of bricks to a building site with a note. The note said, “There are exactly enough bricks to build the church that I designed. Each brick has its proper place and will work best in its proper place. I’ll be back to check on your progress.”
What kind of building of building would the Lord find on His return? Would we all be in our proper place? Would every brink be used? Would there still be a big pile of bricks waiting to be put to use?
Beloved, we each have a place of service in the church of the Lord Jesus Christ. Some have already found their place of service; others are still looking. Yet there are still others who feel as if they are in the pile waiting to find their place.
The Apostle Peter urges us to be kind to one another as we each search for our place (ministry) in the church. We all have one. We are all needed. There is a task for each of us. Let me encourage you to find your place of service here at Leawood. We need you and you need us. We ALL need to follow the Lord Jesus more closely.
