“For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good,” 2 Timothy 3:2-3
I’ve often been asked, “Are we living in the ‘Last Days’?” Beloved, a closer look at this passage of Scripture will answer that question.
As I look around the community, the area, the country as a whole, I can find hundreds or thousands of illustrations for each one of the phrases. Never in our history have we seen such self-centered people. Greed seems to motivate most companies and political figures. Case in point: a U.S. Senator starts out with a salary of $174,000 a year. In a few years they are making millions of dollars each year. It raises the question in my mind, are they working for the people who elected them or someone else. The someone else is sure paying them more money. (Greed)
Have you ever seen people who are more disrespectful to their parents, or anyone for that matter? Beloved, we live among some of the most unthankful, unloving, unforgiving, liars, and brutal people who ever lived. Self-control doesn’t even seem to be encouraged anymore. Our society scoffs at what is good.
These are the last days beloved. Now more than ever we need to let the LOVE of the Lord Jesus shine into the dark and dying world. Walk in the Light! Show others the WAY.
