November 15, 2020 - Count Your Blessings

“That my soul may sing praise to You and not be silent.

O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.” Psalm 30:12

Has God ever turned your mourning into dancing, or your sorrow into Joy? David’s life was just like the rest of us, it had ups and downs. Even God’s Word says that in this life you will have trouble. We are not going to escape bad things that happen. Being a Christian doesn’t mean that God will wipe away all our sorrows and troubles, but it does mean that He will always be there with us no matter what we face. Some things may seem overwhelming but they’re not when God is present right there beside us.

What is it that keeps us from praising God and giving Him our thanksgiving? Pride? Selfishness? Ungratefulness?

We should always remember those things in life that God has blessed us with and how He’s always provided and made a way for us. Looking back at all the victories He’s given to us should fill our hearts and minds with His praise forever.

One of my favorite hymns encourages us to look on the positive side of our lives and Count our blessings. Remember those things that God has done for us and give Him the glory for every one.

Count your blessings, name them one by one,

Count your blessings, see what God has done!

Count your blessings, name them one by one,

Count your many blessings, see what God has done.
