“Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise.

Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting,

and His truth endures to all generations.” Psalm 100:4-5

For years I’ve noticed that Christians have become more and more confused about “Worship Services.” Many people in the Baby Buster or Generation X, and Millennials generation are drawn to churches that have a major musical production every Sunday morning. It’s their belief that the church staff has the responsibility to somehow “inspire them to worship.”

Look closely at these verses and you will see an entirely different model. Note we are to enter the “gates” with thanksgiving. The gates are outside. Even before we reach the sanctuary, we are to have a thankful heart. As we cross the courtyard we should be filled with praise.

Beloved, when we come together for worship, we are expressing what is already in our heart. If you have to be emotionally manipulated in order to worship, then you need to stop and check your spiritual condition. Worship is what you enter with, its not what you leave with.

Music enhances worship it doesn’t create it. Worship is our response to the goodness of God. His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all GENERATIONS. We don’t need a NEW method to worship, we NEED a NEW HEART. Worship the LORD today. Remember his grace, goodness, mercy and truth.
