Hallelujah! Praise God in his sanctuary. Psalm 150:1a

Here’s the definition of “Sanctuary” by Merriam-Webster: (Entry 1 of 2) 1: a consecrated place: such as: a: the ancient Hebrew temple at Jerusalem or its holy of holies. b: the most sacred part of a religious building (such as the part of a Christian church in which the altar is placed)

For us here at Leawood, “Sanctuary” is the formal “name” that we have attached to the building and room where we have most of our large group meetings. Does that mean that we are to limit our praise of God to that building alone? I would have to say no based on Ezekiel 37:26-28. Since God has declared that His meeting place is in the midst of His people, it seems that wherever His people are, He is there also.

So, it looks like the writer is encouraging us that wherever we are, He is to be praised. We don’t have to and shouldn’t save it up for just being in attendance at the church’s property anymore! When we’re out and about and we have some praise trying to get out - we can just bust it out right then and there!

Like the song says: “Praise Him. Praise Him. Praise Him in the morning; praise Him in the noon-time. Praise Him, praise Him, praise Him when the sun goes down!

- Pray for opportunities to praise Him in places that are not just at the church house.
