November 5, 2020 - In the Heavens

Praise Him in His mighty Heavens. Psalm 150:1b

Psalm 19:1 states that the Heavens declare the glory of God. Seems fitting, since God, Himself created them and everything in them. The scriptures have many references to the sun, moon, stars, heavens and the like using words and phrases like “handiwork” and “spoke into existence.” But, one need only to read Isaiah 6:1-6 to get an idea of what Isaiah’s vision of Heaven and the Lord was like. Or how about the Revelation of John 5:10-12 Then I looked, and I heard the voices of many angels and living creatures and elders encircling the throne, and their number was myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands. In a loud voice they said: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing!” (Berean Study Bible)

I think that’s going to be us! “The Living Creatures”, the “myriads”. You should Google that word “myriads” if you don’t already know it. We are being challenged by the writer of Psalm 150 to praise Him wherever we are here on earth and when we get there too. Why don’t we accept the challenge and begin now so that when we get there, we’ll be ready to join the thousands upon ten-thousands. If we do here on earth, those around us will be positively affected by the praise and maybe even infected with praise also!
