Praise Him for His mighty acts; Psalm 150:2a

Although “What have you done for me lately?” is a line from a song in the 80’s, I wonder if many followers of Christ sometimes wonder this these days too – about The Lord. We’ve been told as Christians to look to the heavens or creation to see what God has done but do we sometimes want additional stuff to help us remember? Do we find it easy to think: “oh, that’s just a tree” or “that’s just a bug on the sidewalk?” Do we miss the beauty in the simple creations or the mightiness in the complex design as we long for something seemingly more tangible?

Dr. Phil Glisson once pointed out during a sermon, that a certain species of fly was once observed under a microscope to have little hairs on its legs. Wow! That’s almost hard to believe – that the designer and creator of the universe took the action to give that fly hairy legs.

Although the “Easter Season” has passed for this year, let’s not forget the mightiest act that God has ever done. That is to allow himself, in the human form of Jesus, to be killed in our place and then resurrect Himself from the grave by His own power.

Let us be careful not to let the most seemingly common and mundane things that we encounter every day, become too common or mundane so that we forget that for God to create any of these, is no less mighty and worthy of praise!

- Pray against boredom in your relationship

- Pray for a fresh set of eyes in your relationship with Him

- Pray for a reinvigorated spirit each day
