“Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord; Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David; Hosanna in the highest!”

Mark 11: 9b-10

As the people began to see Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a colt, they remembered the teachings they were brought up believing, things they had imagined to be true about this Savior coming to this world. They were anxiously waiting on Him to rule and reign in the Kingdom that He was going to set up. They were overjoyed and began praising Him. Shouting out their praises and causing a boisterous situation as he rode into the city. Can you imagine seeing Him come into Jerusalem?

Here’s the problem. Jesus was coming into Jerusalem but not to accomplish the “kingdom” that they were all hoping for. He was there to fulfill His Father’s plan. Jesus is only about 5 days before His trails and crucifixion. The excitement that is now being displayed for all to see will quickly be turned into accusations and the shouts of Crucify Him!

These praises are fitting but were out of place. These praises will come later on when Jesus sets up His Kingdom on this Earth and Heaven after the final victory over Satan and his angels. I believe that those praises will be filled with Joy and even louder than they were back in Jerusalem. Praises will be given by ALL the saints.

Have you ever been misunderstood? Maybe you have watched a situation that you imagined a completely different outcome than what actually happened. That’s why it’s so important for us not to impose our “thinking” into what God’s Will is for our lives. We must allow God to have complete control and allow Him to have the freedom to “work all things for our good”. We may run ahead at times or even lag behind but God wants us to be on time with Him as we travel through the journey of life. God always works “right on time”! I’m so thankful that it’s all in His hands. We often have frustrations but when we take a look back hopefully we see His exact plan for us and that His plan was much better than we could have ever imagined! I’m reminded of God’s words in Proverbs 3:5, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And do not lean on your own understanding.”

- Pray for God to give you wisdom and discernment (light)

- Pray for God to direct your path daily

- Pray for your neighbors."
